This is the third American Edition of this work, which is the first history of New York. The “continuation edition” that includes the period between 1732 and 1814, by John Van Ness Yates. (Howes S703, Sabin 84569, Shaw & Shoemaker 32803). Wear at extremities, head of spine missing a large chunk, scattered foxing and staining, previous owner’s name in ink on front free end paper.
