Size: Octavo (standard book size). Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. Previous owner’s name in pencil on front free end paper. Green gilt stamped cloth over boards, [3] 156 pages, no illustrations. Lightly bumped at corners and spine ends, spine sunned (this is likely a later binding), front hinge cracked, interior pages toned, one-page has 2 inch tear along gutter. From the Preface: “No village in the United States has had so remarkable history as Cherry Valley; nor has any plate so important a part in all the various epochs of the country’s history. This work was originally intended to cover only the colonial and revolutionary periods, and was adapted more especially for younger readers.
