Size: 5 1/4″ x 3 5/8″. 10-volume set (complete). Text is in French. . 10 volumes of the infamous Marquis de Sade’s erotic works. Half morocco with gilt decoration and lettering on spine, marbled paper over boards, marbled end papers, top edges gilt, title pages state published in 1797 en Hollande, they were more likely produced in the late 19th century. Four volumes of the Histoire de Justine [43 plates], six volumes of the Histoire de Juliette [58 plates, three of which are colored by a contemporary hand]. All volumes have light wear at extremities, a few have minor instances of scattered foxing, one has a worm hole affecting a few pages in the blank margin, not affecting any text.
