Half gilt-stamped black faux leather with brown cloth over boards; pp. (iv), 832; all issues for 1863 with quite a bit of Civil War content; Winslow Homer, Thomas Nast wood engravings. Corners and spine ends bumped, cloth lightly chipped, dampstaining at bottom edge and fore-edge in several places, page 615 is torn in the middle from foredge to spine, a few other pages have short edge tears.
