Size: Octavo (standard book size). Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. First, Second, and Third Tour bound in one volume. Half leather with marbled paper over boards; Vol. I: The First Tour of Doctor Syntax, in Search of the Picturesque; 272 pages, 29 color plates plus frontispiece; Vol. II: The Second Tour of Doctor Syntax, in Search of Consolation, 277 pages, 23 color plates; Vol. III: The Third Tour of Doctor Syntax, in Search of a Wife, 279 pages, 23 plates plus frontispiece and illustrated title page. Wear at extremities, front fly leaf has inked names of previous owners as well as dates for when this volume was rebound, many pages have been repaired, plate in Vol. I has a small piece cut out, Vol. II lacks frontispiece, the first two pages of Vol. III were mis-bound to the beginning of Vol. II, scattered staining, some small tears, still highly readable.
