Maroon gilt-stamped cloth over boards, (xii), 220 pages, Notes to the text, Catalogue, Chronological Table, Bibliography, Index, profusely illustrated with “twenty-four magnificent plates in full colour and about a hundred in black and white, most of which have never been published before”. Binding starting to loosen, all pages still attached. In a pictorial dust jacket that is rubbed, bumped and chipped at edges and corners.
