Size: 11 1/2″ x 8 7/8″. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Rebound. Red cloth over boards, gilt titling on spine, original 1823 Philadelphia Theatre playbill for the Dec. 2nd performance of King Henry the Fourth (Mr. Hathwell as King Henry IV) laid in on modern paper as frontispiece, approx. 68 pages with 20 color portrait plates, including Mrs. Siddons as Lady Macbeth, Mr. Young as the Stranger, etc. Seems to lack the text that goes along with the portraits of Mlle. Noblet, Mrs. Bland, Mr. Gattie. Those three portraits are unaccompanied by text and have been interleaved with thick, modern wove paper. Wear at extremities, front hinge starting, signature on title page, scattered staining throughout. In a red cloth slipcase that that has some staining Quantity Available: 1.
