Description

Description: This somewhat impressionist view of a gondolier plying the canal waters in Venice is titled on verso “Afternoon in Venice.” It is signed and dated lower left: “Emily Nichols Hatch 1916”. There is a remnant of a numbered label upper left… perhaps an exhibition number.

Emily Nichols Hatch (1871-1959), portrait and landscape painter, was a member of the Pen and Brush Club and the National Association of Women Painters and Sculptors.

Condition: In need of cleaning, otherwise very good. Sold without a frame.
