Size: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″. . Volume I only, though has the title page and spine label for Volume III. This volume includes the preface,the Table of Contents lists Book I’s chapters which corresponds with what appears in book, first page of text is marked Book I, final page states “End of the First Volume”. So, it appears that the book was given the wrong title page and thus was given an incorrect spine label. Full brown leather over boards, 492 pages, illustrated with one plate titled “Omai”. Wear at extremities, portion of top parts of title page and preface have been cut away, previous owner’s name on title page in period ink, ink stamp of previous owner’s name on first page of text, scattered instances of staining throughout, damage to rear hinge but it’s holding strong.
