Description: Raymond Berry was the Baltimore Colts split end from 1955-1967. He later became head coach of the New England Patriots. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1973. In this autograph letter signed he writes in part: “You mentioned Gino Marchetti….Brings back visual pictures of him as a player – quickness…power…agility…competitive spirit – he was the complete package. Also a World War II Veteran… Fought in the Battle of the Bulge in Europe in 1944 at age 18…’Never been so cold in my life,’ he said.” He ends the letter, in keeping with his self-professed born again Christian status, with some verses from the Bible and says, “The point is God has an assg for each of us, and he’s given us everything we need in order to carry it out Raymond B”.
