Description: American industrialist and diplomat Owen D. Young (1874-1962) signed this friendly typed letter that reads: “The world is full of pests, but fortunately it is also full of fine-spirited people who provide encouragement and inspiration along the difficult way. I salute you as one of this latter group and thank you heartily for your cordial note and best wishes.”
Owen Young is particularly known for being a member of the German Reparations International Commission and for the Young Plan, the program adopted in 1930 to settle Germany’s World War I reparations.
The letter is dated October 29, 1931 and is typed on “120 Broadway, New York Room 2555 Owen D. Young” imprinted stationery. 10 ½” x 8”. Item #A01460
Condition: Mailing fold lines, light offsetting on verso from being placed in an album. Generally good condition with a neat, bold signature.
