Description

Description: American poet Edwin Arlington Robinson (1869-1935) neatly signed his name below this rather serious half-tone portrait. In the image, a suit-wearing Robinson sits stoically, bent elbows symmetrically resting on the arms of his chair, hat in lap. Robinson has also marked the date, May 14, 1929, on the mount beneath his signature.

Image size: 6 3/8″ x 4 3/4″ tipped on to two larger sheets. Overall: 12″ x 9″. Item #A01577

Edwin Arlington Robinson won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry on three occasions: Collected Poems (1922), The Man Who Died Twice (1924), and Tristram (1927). He was also nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature four times.

Condition: There are a few small spots on the blank margins, otherwise very good with a neat, bold signature.
