Anna Laurens Dawes (1851-1938) served as vice-president of the Massachusetts Association Opposed to the Further Extension of Suffrage to Women, she was a trustee of Smith College and authored numerous books (The Modern Jew: His Present and His Future, The Indian as Citizen, etc.).
