Description: This early and rare work by Kauffer was created a few years after his training at the Art Institute of Chicago and move to London. It was there that he utilized his avant-garde sensibilities incorporating the emerging art movements… Cubism, Futurism, Vorticism, etc… to create commercial art posters for the London Underground, Shell Oil, etc.

This wonderfully shaded still-life is marked in graphite at the lower margin: “Lithograph 16/50 1918 for William (Yeo) with my very best wishes Ted/E. McKnight Kauffer.

Condition: Some light wrinkling in the blank margins, otherwise very good.
