Description: This charming 19th century etching features a young girl amidst a field of flowers. It is signed in graphite lower right: “W. L. Lathrop,” as well as in the plate. Printed at the upper left edge: “Copyright 1887 by C. Klackner 17 E. 17th St. N.Y.”
William Langson Lathrop (1859-1938), an American impressionist landscape artist, founded the New Hope, PA Art Colony. His works are in the collections of most major art repositories, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Smithsonian American Art Museum, Philadelphia Museum of Art, etc.
