Description: In this  one-page letter dated May 16th, 1851, A. G. Lawrence requests Mr. L. B. Ward (merchant, Hendrysburg, Belmont Co, Ohio) to speak to Hancy before the peach speculation trial of the 22nd “and ask him if [Lawrence] can prove by him that W. McCartney had an interest in the Peach Speculation last fall with Harmen & Co., or if he should not know the fact perhaps he knows if some other person that does.” Lawrence would like Hancy to go with them to the trial if he did know something.
