Size: 12mo. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. Full leather with five raised bands on spine, leather spine label, elaborate gilt illustration on spine and gilt ruling on boards, marbled endpapers, all edges marbled, black-and-white frontispiece engraving, xxv, 320 pages, seven additional illustrations. Boards moderately scuffed/soiled, wear at corners, front free endpaper is loose at head of spine, some light spotting/foxing on end papers. Gift inscription on front flyleaf to William Otho Nicholson Shaw on his graduation from Eton in 1864. Shaw went on to become a Justce of the Peace in Cheshire, England.. Quantity Available: 1.
