Size: Folio. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Previous owner’s book-plate laid in on front pastedown. “Originally in Italian, and from Thence Newly and Faithfully Translated into English.” Full leather with five raised bands on spine, gilt stamped spine label, contains eleven “Treatises” including The History of Florence, The Prince, and The Art of War, each treatise has a separate title page, pages numbered consecutively throughout, [22], 543 pages total, a sort of consolidated table of contents for several of the treatises (Florentine History, The Prince, The Discourses, and The Art of War) at the beginning, small engraved decorations at beginning and end of chapters and treatises, as well as illuminated first letters. Covers badly scuffed and worn with pieces of leather missing on spine and on covers, end papers toned, front free end paper partially detached, title page toned, interior pages are moderately toned with small age spots and stains occasionally.
