Size: Octavo (standard book size). 5-volume set (complete). Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is sound. Five volumes, all bound with blue cloth over spines and marbled paper over boards, paper spine labels, extra spine labels at rear of each volume, all edges deckled, color frontispieces and black and white illustrations, “With Notes Indexes and Illustrations From Contemporary Sources”; Volume I: Sense and Sensibility, pp. (xii), 429; Volume II: Pride and Prejudice, pp. (xiii), 415; Volume III: Mansfield Park, pp. (xii), 567; Volume IV: Emma, pp. (xi), 517; Volume V: Northanger Abbey, and Persuasion, pp. (xiii), 252, 1-310. “Large-paper edition, limited to 1,000 sets, of which 950 are for sale.” Corners and spine ends are bumped and lightly worn, spine labels are toned and scuffed, scattered foxing in interiors, all have brief gift inscriptions on front free end papers, Mansfield Park’s frontispiece has an overlaying flap that seems to be an update for the original illustration.
