Description / Comments:
Size: Octavo (standard book size). Text is in French. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. Illustrated wraps, 16 leaves, pages printed on one side of each leaf, illustrated by Alekos Fassianos. Yves Navarre signed this book twice in pencil and numbered it 115/300. He wrote an inscription to Andrew Crispo: “For Andrew Crispo my death, the sooner the better Yves 3/12/72”. This rather dark message becomes even more poignant considering Navarre committed suicide in 1996. Alekos Fassianos also signed in pencil. Yves Navarre (1940-1996) was a French writer known for his work that focused on homosexuality and AIDS. Andrew Crispo (b. 1945) was a successful American art dealer, who opened his gallery in New York City in 1973. He is perhaps best known these days for the multiple crimes and scandals he was associated with, however – most notably the “S&M/death mask murder” of a young man in 1985. Covers lightly rubbed, some scuffs and a paper clip rust mark, slightly musty smell, Yves Navarre made a grammatical correction to his poem on the page he signed. Only 2 copies listed in libraries on OCLC. Illustrator: Fassianos, Alekos. Quantity Available: 0. Category: Poetry; French Language; Signed by Author.
