Image is printed to the margins on a 34 1/4″ x 26″ sheet of white japon paper. It is editioned 156 of 300 at the lower left and signed in graphite lower right. There is also a Circle Gallery blindstamp at the lower left corner. Item #PR00416

Rene Gruau (1909-2004) was a fashion illustrator with a distinctive, aspirational aesthetic that continues to influence the worlds of fashion, advertising and design. His work was favored by Christian Dior, his sensibility helped to define the legendary brand. Gruau made work for numerous fashion houses and magazines, including Marie-Claire, Vogue, Balenciaga, Balmain and Lanvin.

Condition: Remnants of hinging tape on verso, a light crease running horizontally through wrist (hardly visible), otherwise very good condition.
