This book is signed on the front cover and front free end paper by Captain Thomas Capehart (1840-1919), who led the 3rd Battalion, NC Light Artillery. Capehart inscribed beneath his name: “Those who may borrow this book will confer a favor by returning it as soon as they finish using it”. Covers stained, corners and spine ends bumped and lightly worn, pencil writing on errata page, title page, and front & rear paste downs, lacks rear free end paper, pages toned, scattered staining, still highly readable.
