Two-volume set, green gilt stamped cloth over boards; Volume I: 584 pages, frontispiece portrait of Grant as a Brevet Second Lieutenant, facsimile of handwriting, several maps and illustrations; Volume I: 648 pages, frontispiece portrait of Grant as a Lieutenant General, publication date is 1886, Errata from Volume I, Index, illustrated with several maps and other illustrations.
