Description: This page of wonderfully expressive pencil portrait studies of American humorist S. J. Perelman, David Frost and an unidentified person is from Cecil Beaton’s sketchbook. It is stamped lower right: “Cecil Beaton From Miss E. Hose” (his secretary).

Sir Cecil Walter Hardy Beaton (1904-1980), the British photographer, painter, stage and costume designer, received numerous Tony and Academy Awards during his lifetime. He was knighted in 1972.
