Description: In his typical story-telling imagery, Cozzolino painted a charming picture of two young girls delighted with a young boy’s knitting prowess. Painting is signed boldly at the lower left: “C. Cozzolino”.
Ciro Cozzolino (1876-1946) was born in Naples, Italy and was a prolific painter of Italian genre scenes. He studied art with Filippo Palizzi and Domenico Morelli. In 1921 he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Francais in Paris.
Stretcher measures: 20″ x 30″. Framed in what appears to be the original frame to: 25 1/2″ x 35 1/2″. Item #FA00368
Condition: There are five light horizontal “drips” by the boy’s arm, there appears to be some lines of inpainting in the upper left corner (visible only under black light). Otherwise good condition.
