Description: This spectacular “carved” hand-made tile has two unclothed slaves in the foreground (one is clearly shackled) rising up from foliage, with what can be surmised are slave ships in the distance. Perhaps, this is a reference to the Armistad slave uprising.

In muted colors of grays, pinks, and blues. Impressed stamp on verso indicates this was designed by Frank Giorgini at UDU, Inc. in New York City. 12″ x 9″. Item #DA00376

Condition: In very good condition with wire hanger attached.
