Description: Hungarian painter Mihály Munkácsy (1844-1900) scribbled and signed this brief note in French in purple ink.

Munkácsy was internationally known for his genre scenes and lavish biblical paintings. His works are in the collections of the Milwaukee Art Museum, Dayton Institute of Art, and the Albany Institute of History and Art, among others. At the Kunsthistoriches Museum in Vienna, Munkácsy painted the ceiling of the grand staircase.

Condition: Fold line, light wrinkling around edges from glue, overall good condition with a large, bold signature.
