Description: English artist George Frederic Watts (1817-1904) wrote and signed this brief letter saying he cannot make an appointment because he is “going away from London as soon as possible.”
George Frederic Watts was an artist associated with the Symbolist movement and became well-known for his allegorical works Hope and Love and Life. Many of his paintings are in the collections of the Tate in London.
Autograph letter signed written on a folded piece of “Little Holland House, Kensington. W.” imprinted stationery that measures 7” x 8 7/8”. Item #A00803.
Condition: Fold lines, overall soil, pencil identification at blank space at top of letter, otherwise in good condition with a clear, bold signature.
