Description

Description: We offer a group of four pencil drawings of Rockport Massachusetts by Seymour Snyder. All four are mounted on 17″ x 13″ illustration board, though two drawings are 6” x 8 7/8” and two are 7 ¾” x 11 ½”. The two larger drawings are signed in ink and both retain Snyder’s notes and titles: “Street in Rockport, Mass” and “Motif No. 1.” The larger sketches have detailed notes about the landscape and particular coloring of various areas. These pieces are accomplished plein air drawings that show the foundations of Snyder’s future paintings as well as charming visual documents of a seafaring town. Item #FA00186.
