Brief gift inscription on front free end paper. This copy was given to Clifford Odets from Mrs. F. F. Proctor and has an inked gift inscription on ffep. Odets is considered the defining American playwright of the 1930s and revered as one of drama’s greatest crusaders for social justice. Light blue cloth with silver lettering over boards, fore-edge deckled, 191 pages, illustrated in black and white. “The story of Proctor is the story of vaudeville and that is the story of laughter and joy brought to the millions.” Corners and spine ends bumped, text block foxed, end papers have some light stains.
