The Doolittle Raid (April 18, 1942) was an air raid on Tokyo and other areas of the Japanese archipelago led by Lieutenant Colonel James Doolittle. The raid served as retaliation for the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor (December 7, 1941), demonstrated that the Japanese mainland was vulnerable to American air attacks, and boosted American morale considerably. Doolittle was given the Medal of Honor and was made Brigadier General for his leadership.
The large label is imprinted with the Doolittle Raiders insignia and the motto: “Toujours au Danger” (Always into Danger). Item #A01724R
