Description: This 10″ x 8″ promotional photograph for the 1963 film “Mr. Arkadian” shows a chest-up portrait of a robust bearded Welles sporting a wide-brimmed hat and a fur-collared overcoat. Welles has signed at the upper left: “All best Orson Welles”.
George Orson Welles (1915-1985), American director, actor and producer, is especially remembered for his first film, Citizen Kane and his radio adaptation and narration of H. G. Wells’ novel The War of the Worlds.
