Description / Comments:
Size: 16mo. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Green wraps, forty-eight pages. Wraps soiled from handling, wear along spine, chipped at base of spine with small piece of paper missing chipped at head of spine, corners very lightly bumped, interior pages lightly toned small ink spot on fore edge of text block, couple of smudges of soil in blank margins. “The first edition of this little work was only designed as a brief narrative of the author’s recollections of early childhood days, and incidents connected there with, anterior to entering the Shaker Society. It has been suggested, through the public press, and by numerous correspondents, that the work be extended, giving the writer’s experience after entering the Community. I have added a few pages to the tract, and aimed to give a brief outline of the interior workings of the Shaker Order, how we spend our time, and of our social relations and spiritual enjoyments.” Quantity Available: 0.
