Description: American poet Ella Wheeler Wilcox (1850-1919) penned and signed this quotation from one of her poems which reads: “Life to my thinking Is a cup worth drinking.” The lines are from the poem, “Entre-Acte Reveries” which was published in her poetry collection: Poems of Pleasure.
Ella Wheeler Wilcox is best known for the poem “Solitude” which includes the lines: “Laugh, and the world laughs with you; weep, and you weep alone”. She completed a novel before the age of ten and had her first poem published at thirteen. Wilcox published several books of poetry as well as an autobiography, The Worlds and I, during her lifetime.
