Description: It’s all about the sky in this superbly executed painting on masonite by Greenberg. A single barn with silo sits amidst a hilly landscape at the very bottom of this work, while a cloudburst consumes the upper 80%. It is signed at the lower right: “Maurice Greenberg”.

12″ square, framed to 16 1/2″ square. The frame has a title, “Rain Curtain”, in pencil on the verso. Item #FA00392

Maurice Greenberg (1893-1996) trained as an artist at the Wisconsin School of Art. He moved to Chicago early in his career and exhibited his work at the Art Institute of Chicago. The bulk of his active years was spent in Los Angeles painting sets for Columbia Screen Gems, MGM Studios, Walt Disney Studios, and Cascade Pictures.
