Description

Description: This 8″ x 10″ glossy photograph of O’Keeffe’s painting “Red Barn – Wisconsin” is boldly signed on verso: “Georgia O’Keeffe” and the painting’s specifications are detailed in another hand. Apparently, it was typical of O’Keeffe to sign the verso of photos of her paintings to authenticate them.

This image came from an archive of Andrew Crispo Gallery materials and comes with a tear sheet from a magazine advertising the gallery selling this painting and another 8″ x 10″ photo with the gallery data on verso which states: “Authenticated photograph available”. Crispo Gallery exhibited the painting in 1973.
