Description: This wonderfully handled oil painting on board has the evening light striking a working steam vessel and a steamboat adrift in the Boston Harbor.

It is signed lower right: “F. M. Lamb”. 8″ x 12″ framed to: 10 3/4″ x 14 3/4″. Item #FA00376

Frederick Mortimer Lamb (1861-1936) was a Massachusetts based artist best known for landscapes, dogs, horses and portraits. He was born in Middleboro and studied at the Massachusetts Normal Art School and the Acadamie Julian in Paris. He was a member of various regional artist clubs including the Boston Society for Water Color Painters.

Condition: Very good condition. Would benefit from a cleaning.
