Description: Through etching and aquatint Nankivell created an impressionistic and moody snowy evening view of New York’s Fifth Avenue with the Public Library prominent in the foreground.

The print is titled and signed in graphite at the lower margin: “New York Public Library on Fifth Avenue Edith Nankivell imp.”

Edith Nankivell (1896-1962) was born in New York City and had as her mentor, her father, Frank Nankivell, a prominent Australian artist. She is most known for her architectural prints of New York City buildings and bridges.

Plate mark: 7 1/8″ x 10 1/8″, on a 9 1/2″ x 12″ sheet of wove paper. Item #PR00411

Condition:  Toned around perimeter of print, two pieces of hinging tape on verso, otherwise good condition.
