Description: An impressive, nearly three foot tall, bronze of a full-standing Lincoln holding the Emancipation Proclamation.

Bronze base is marked: “Copyright by Leonard W. Volk 1891”. The base is 10 1/2″ in diameter and sits on a 3/4″ high marble base which is 12″ in diameter.

Though dated 1891, it is our belief that most of these that come on the market were cast in the early 20th century.

Leonard Wells Volk (1828-1895) is most known for creating one of only two life masks of Lincoln. He created numerous monumental pieces, including Stephen Douglas’ Tomb in Chicago and the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument in Rochester.
