Half gilt-stamped red leather with navy cloth over boards, marbled end papers, (xiv), 484, Index, illustrated with several portraits of various soldiers. Includes a 1 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ card signed by James S. Dougall, one of the soldiers in the 44th who was “severely wounded and lost his left leg by amputation below the knee” after the Second Battle of Bull Run.
