Size: Octavo (standard book size). Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. Green gilt stamped cloth over boards xvi, 494 pages, [1], “illustrations from various sources drawn and engraved by F. W. Fairholt”. Corners and spine ends bumped a little, covers lightly scuffed, stain of some sort on bottom edge of text block that extends onto fore edge (has a minimal effect on interior pages), a pencil signature of a previous owner erased on the front flyleaf, a little foxing on the half title page and facing page, pages lightly toned around edges, some foxing on rear flyleaves. From the library of playwright Clifford Odets; his embossed name stamp on the front free end paper.
