Description
Description: This rather scary oversize view of the female human louse was published in 1768 in Planches de l”Encyclopedie de Diderot et d’Alembert (vol. 5, Historie Naturelle plate 84). It seems to be derived from Robert Hooke’s groundbreaking 1665 work, Micographia.
Platemark measures: 14″ x 24 1/2″ on a sheet of wove paper which measures: 17 1/2″ x 27″. Item #PR00558
Condition: Vertical fold lines where it was folded into folio volume, some edge roughness at bottom blank margin, generally very good.
