Description

Description: We offer an original signed mezzotint by the American artist Carol Wax. The plate size of Cinemanic is 9 ⅞” x 6” and it is expertly printed on ivory German etching paper that measures 15 ¾” x 11 ⅜””. It is editioned, titled and signed in graphite along the lower margin, just under the plate line: “34/160, Cinemanic, CWAX ‘02”. The artist’s approach of arresting hyper-realism shows a reverence and joyful appreciation of mechanical aesthetics. This is an impeccable impression in a very low edition, printed by Wax in her studio. This was the 68th annual presentation print for the Print Club of Albany in 2002. Item #PR00505
