Description: This spectacular full-size  pieced quilt incorporates fifty-five 3″ circular portraits of President Garfield. Portraits were probably cut from yard goods manufactured for Garfield’s 1880 Presidential campaign. The quilt was either created then or as a memorial item after Garfield’s 1881 assassination.

Condition: In very good condition with the greens, blues, browns, etc. still bright and the intricate quilting visible on verso entirely intact.
