Description: This color etching featuring a bunker-like image fits into Nagaoka’s futuristic artistic output.
It is editioned (57/75), signed and dated in graphite just below the platemark (4 5/8″ x 5 3/4″). Printed on a deckle-edge sheet of white wove paper which measures: 13 3/4″ x 10 1/2″ and is blindstamped “Radierwerkstatt Schlemme Berlin”. Item #PR00447
Kunito Nagaoka (b. 1940) was born in Japan but moved to Berlin in 1966 and studied etching with Louise Kohnke-Duwell and Gerhard Bergmann. His prints are in the collection of numerous prominent art institutions including: National Museum of Modern Art (Kyoto, Japan), Cincinnati Art Museum (Ohio), Israeli Museum of Art (Jerusalem), etc.
Condition: Remnants of hinging tape at verso top, otherwise very good condition.
