Description

Description: With bold colors and angular architecture Osborn and Woods created a captivating bird’s-eye view of this old mining town.

For over half a century David Osborn and Charles Woods, friends from the 1950’s at UC Berkeley, were part of the Nevada City, California art scene. They designed postcards, greeting cards, posters, wrapping paper, and, as in this case, fine art prints.

This is titled and signed in graphite at the lower right: “Virginia City Osborn Woods”. Their work was featured in the May 1969 issue of “American Artist”. The cover story was titled: “Two California Poster Artists”.
