Description: In this typed letter signed, Rickenbacker writes as President of Eastern Air Lines and states in part: “I am happy to know that the St. Michael’s Men’s Club of Marblehead enjoyed the film “Air Power is Peace Power” as well as Captain Batty’s talk”.
Letter is dated May 11, 1949 and written on a 10 1/2″ x 7″ sheet of Eastern Air Lines stationery. Item #A01559
Eddie Rickenbacker (1890-1973) was America’s most successful fighter pilot in World War I having won 26 aerial victories. He headed Eastern Airlines from 1935-1959.
Condition: A few spots of soil upper left. Letter had been stored in one of those ubiquitous “sticky” page photo albums and the glue from the page has migrated to the recto of the letter leaving light tidy stripes. Generally good condition with a bold signature.
