Description: This four-page program for Troy Chromatic Concerts, Inc. at Troy Music Hall on January 26, 1948 is signed by the two performers: operatic baritone Leonard Warren (1911-1960) and pianist Willard Sektberg (1902-1989). Warren and Sektberg performed selections of Handel, Caldara, Fauré, Chopin, Brahms, Gounod, and Rossini, among others.

Leonard Warren was the leading baritone of the Metropolitan Opera for many years, until he suddenly died on stage during a performance of Simon Boccanegra on March 4, 1960. He sang in the first live telecast of the Metropolitan Opera, performing in Giuseppe Verdi’s Otello.

Willard Sektberg was a pianist, organist, and vocal coach who accompanied numerous Metropolitan Opera singers, including, of course, Leonard Warren.
