Description: Louis Brandeis penned this brief note on April 4th, 1939, just two months after his retirement as a U.S. Supreme Court Justice. The note reads: “Dear Mr. Beach: It was good of you to write me. Cordially Louis D. Brandeis”.
Louis Dembitz Brandeis (1856-1941) was associate Justice on the U.S. Supreme Court from 1916 to 1939. He is known particularly for championing freedom of speech and the right to privacy.
Written on an approximately 7” x 6” sheet of “2205 California Street Washington, D. C.” imprinted stationery. Item #A01452
Condition: Mailing fold line, otherwise very good condition with a large, bold signature.
