Description: We offer a signed original landscape painting by the Russian/American artist Abraham S. Baylinson. It is painted in oil on a 16” x 20” canvas and housed in a gold painted frame with the outside dimensions 21 ¾” x 25 ¾”. The artist has signed the piece in the lower right corner “A. S. Baylinson 1939 [or 1949].” (verso has a # and 1939). The soft mountains and early American farm house gives the painting distinct Catskill Mountain aura. 

Abraham Solomon Baylinson (1882–1950) was a Russian-American painter who was active in the early modernist movement. He studied at the Art Students League of New York, the National Academy of Design and the New School of Art. His work is in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Fine Art, and the Newark Museum. Item #FA00339
